Find Out If A Hair Transplant in New Jersey Is A Permanent Solution

Hair transplants in New Jersey are more in demand every day as men and women realize the effectiveness and longevity of results. However, just how long-lasting are transplanted hairs? It’s certainly understandable that people have concerns about spending significant money to replace hair if there’s a possibility it will all fall out. “Is it permanent?” is a common question, and we have the answer.

New Jersey Hair Transplants Come From A Permanent Supply

For men, in particular, the typical pattern that their hair shedding presents itself in means that even when severe, there will be many active follicles left that the back and sides of their head. Men will often see receding of the frontal hairline and thinning at the crown first. They may develop a bald spot at the top as well. For some, this progression is extremely slow, and it’s faster for others. Experts know what areas to avoid when selecting ideal donor hairs. Those in the fallout regions will be avoided, even if you haven’t lost those hairs yet.

DHT resistance

For those men affected by androgenic alopecia, hair follicles negatively impacted by the hormone DHT are located in specific zones. Hair transplants extract the follicles which carry a natural DHT resistance with them to wherever they are placed. The best grafts for this purpose are usually located at the back and sides of the scalp. They possess what’s known as donor dominance and will stay implanted at the crown or frontal hairline for the natural lifetime of the follicle.

Expect temporary shedding after a hair transplant in New Jersey

Sometimes, people are not prepared for the phenomenon of shock loss, or telogen effluvium, shortly following the procedure. Related to stress and the temporary trauma of the procedure, patients can expect to lose most of the 1-4 hairs transferred in each follicle. These short hairs will usually shed about 3 weeks after the procedure. This can be alarming if unexpected, but it is not a sign that there is an issue with the follicle itself.

FUE transplants relocate entire functioning hair follicles which include the scalp tissue surrounding the root of a hair and the micro-tissue structures responsible for creating hairs. Each small graft will establish a new blood supply and function below the skin’s surface where hairs initially grow. Eventually, new strands come from implanted follicles when they enter the anagen phase and will start to show around 3 – 4 months later.

Once your locks are completely grown in around 9-12 months later, you can wash, brush, cut and style however you like. You won’t need to worry that the hair will fall out of the crown and hairline again, except for the minimal, natural shedding that all healthy hair goes through in its cycles.

If you’ve tried other solutions and you’re tired of wasting the effort and money without permanent results, it might be the right time to schedule a consultation at the Nova Medical Hair Transplant Clinic. Our experts will assess your hair loss and customize an effective plan to help you get your confidence back.
