The Cost of FUE

What’s The Cost of FUE in New Jersey?

Hair Transplant Clinics Price Range

Factors that Influence Cosmetic Procedure Pricing

When surveying the various hair transplant clinics and what prices they offer, you may see quite a range. There are many factors that influence cosmetic procedure pricing and they include: Clinic location, qualifications and experience of the surgeon and individual needs of the client. Unlike many other cosmetic surgery procedures, FUE cost in New Jersey is very much customised on an individual basis. When you meet with your surgeon in person, you’ll be given an overview of the options, various techniques and complimentary treatments that could benefit you, a proposed plan and your personalized quote. Your quote should clearly indicate your total cost, and everything included in that fee. Here are a few things that will affect the numbers you see on your quote:

Your location

Being in a major city certainly offers access to many surgeons and hair transplant clinics. It also means a great range of prices will be seen but typically, an area saturated with options will offer competitive pricing, so you should be able to see consistent, fair FUE costs in New Jersey.

Your procedure type

The traditional strip method, also known as FUT, is still utilized today. Depending on patient needs, this method may be recommended when donor hair is insufficient to provide coverage the patient wants. It is also still a good way to get a very high number of grafts in one session. The drawbacks include an inevitable donor scar which forms a long line at the back of the head. Many people today choose FUE, also known as a scarless hair transplant, because it doesn’t require a strip of scalp to be excised. This method is not truly “scarless” but the small, white dots which remain at the back of the scalp are typically less than 1mm in diameter and disappear easily into the hair-even short hair. The grafts are extracted with specialized equipment and a hand-held punch tool. They are then meticulously placed in the recipient area through micro incisions.

The cost of FUE in New Jersey is higher than FUT, though many consider the extra cost worthwhile.

Your Hair Transplant Needs Affect the Cost

The Number of Grafts That You Need and the Number of Sessions You Will Require Affect the Cost Quoted

Most New York and New Jersey FUE clinics will price their procedures based on a per graft calculation. Based on volume, there is typically a cost savings as greater numbers of grafts are priced lower individually. Still, the difference between a 500-1,000 graft, “minor” transplant to add to a hairline or temples, compared with a mega 3,000-5,000 graft session, will be great.

A full transplant with 2,000+ grafts will cost upwards of 10k.

Sometimes, when a large number of hair grafts are to be transplanted, your surgeon will recommend breaking up the whole treatment into two sessions. This can improve graft viability and also makes more dramatic results possible. Ask your surgeon what the cost is per graft for every 1,000 grafts added to a session.

As always, if you have concerns about a price you’re quoted you should feel free to ask questions and compare local clinics to choose the treatment and price you’re comfortable with.
