Concealing Your Hair Transplant
Hair loss can be a disheartening process that many of us will go through as we age.
Luckily, at the Nova Medical Hair Transplant Clinic, we offer advanced, New Jersey hair transplant options designed to help restore your hair and your self-confidence.
Cover scar or scabs with long hair
If you have longer hair, you can strategically style it in a way that helps to hide any scars or scabs that form from a hair transplant.
Use a concealer
If you have shorter hair, there are plenty of hair loss concealers available that are composed of nanofibers that blend in with your natural hair and these cover up your scalp as it recovers from the hair transplant surgery. You may begin using scalp concealers after the first few days.
Switch your hair parting
Hair loss typically occurs in the frontal hairline and thus, parting your hair differently after a New Jersey hair transplant can help hide this treated area until the new hair grows in and can be styled.
Unnoticeable Natural Results
Reduce redness with make-up
After the hair transplant surgery, it is not uncommon to experience some redness in the upper half of your face. We typically recommend that our patients wait a week before applying make-up to help reduce the appearance of redness. If you do wear make-up, be sure to gently remove the make-up at the end of your day without scrubbing or rubbing the area.
Wash your hair frequently
It is safe to wash your hair regularly within a few days of the transplantation procedure. This will help reduce the scabs, which also minimises the chances of others noticing your hair transplant. Another benefit of washing your hair frequently is the decreased risk of infection.
Elevate your head while sleeping
Swelling typically affects about three-quarters of all hair transplant patients and can extend to the upper portion of your face for approximately 1 week. When you sleep in a position with your head and shoulders slightly elevated, you can help reduce the swelling.
At the Nova Medical Hair Transplant Clinic, we pride ourselves in creating natural results that are unnoticeable to the untrained eye. However, if you are interested in a New Jersey hair transplant but are uncomfortable with the idea of others seeing the outcome of the transplant before it is ready, these tips and our skilled approach will ensure that your hair transplant is concealed discreetly until you are ready to show the world your new appearance with confidence.
